HDR for dummies.

Hey guys I recently acquired photomatix, and I was wondering how to take a good HDR image (such as the one below). From what I've heard is taking 3 different exposures (-2,0,+2), and then uploading to photomatix and voila! Is it really that easy?? Please help me I wanna get a picture like this one

Pretty much. Just play around with the settings and save the setting. Use that same setting on any picture with some variations. That's it. Get Adobe Lightroom for additional tools to enhance it.

There are some tutorials on youtube. That's how I learned.

I am also eager to learn HDR. I have a DSLR just need to find the time to do this. Hopefully in the summer when I get my 335i.

I use photomatix and it's great cheap SW for HDR rendering... You need at least 3 different images shot at different exposures. Most SLR cameras have the ability to do multi-brackets or multi-exposure shots.

Here's a few I've done of past vehicles (never mind the Jap-imports):
