![Question](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
The lord of the rings appeared suddenly in my rear view mirror. So first i tried to see if it is a real RS6 or an S6.Anyway it might have been an S6 but from the front bumper...mmm, anyway what could i do, i'm in the brake-in period and the devil had to show it's teeth
! I tired to accelerate without passing 3500 rpm and woooof from 80 to 150 kmh in a blink of an eye(the huge torque really made up). Of course i caught him unprepared and i had the right time to pass (zig zag) through the traffic, but he really made it and couldn't pass me because of the heavy traffic. I know it surpassed my allmighty 535d
but from time to time it comes to the driver aswell when heavy traffic is involved. Anyway i know the RS6 is a monster, hell the S6 is quite a monster but in the end i had a good time, without passing the limits and with respect.Because i have the M pack alot of people here confuzes my car with the M5 mostly the non specialists, and it felt real good since it looked like a race between an M5 and an RS6 from far away! It's times like theese when i would really want to have beside me the pawoa of an M5, and it's high revvy engine.
Smth like this happened a few days before when i was crusing at 120-130km/h when a carrera cabrio came in fast in my back. That was the first time i really used to kick-down (because it changed 2 gears when i floored it). The guy remained speechless when i pulled from him
! But i had to temper because i have only 1000km with my brand new car and already from the kick down i hit 4000rpm wich i feared alot
! Hope it didn't affect it too much...

Cool drive. I got my 535d 13 days ago and drove 1400 km. Did you do a trafficlight run already? Put it in M1 and a 911 (996) can't catch up with you. I drove before the 530d (E60), but the 535 is magnificent. Sport mode is a real sport mode, not as the 530d just a gear shift, but it seems that the motorelectronics react differently. Wow what a car...
Yeah i've done a trafficlight but it was still in D mode and with care not to exceed 3500 max 4000 rpm! When the car reached those revs i kinda lift off and let it change to a higher gear even though i had the other car in my tail...although i was kinda upset because he tohught that is waht the car could do best, wich obviusly was not!
From some tests comparinb both with automatic tranny, the 535d is insignifiant quicker till 100kmh then for a while it becomes even and from 140km/h the 545i starts to pull away but the same way...insignifiant! Maybe from 200km/h the 545i will pull away better!
but...with manual tranmission on the 545i i think there isn't much to compare! the 545i is indeed quicker!
Yeah and the power is so linear and strong in the same way, not like in a NA petrol when it cilmb in power and speed as u climb in revs (alot of revs). This diesel pumps and pumps torque till the end of days. 400NM available almost from idle

In straight line acceleration the 545 is quicker than the 535.
