CD problem will get you a SW upgrade under warranty. Ask them to activate MP3 at the same time. The MP3 will only work on the dash cd drive, not the cd changer.

My car is 5 months out of BMW warranty, but has a Aftermarket warranty that came with the car.
Would BMW still cover this CD issue?

Any updates on a possible fix for this?

Well, I have finally sorted this problem out. After changing some kind of electronic units deep within the car (under warranty!) and software updated the problem was solved. I thought. After 2 months it occured again. This time loosing bluetooth as well, and fan running half its speed even when knob was at full whach and the setting in the iDrive at max.
The solution? Charging the battery
After a powerdiagnosis at the dealer they could read my battery powerlevel 5 days back in history. It was a 25-30% in average and deemed to low.
After charging everything has worked perfectly
Now it is time to change to summer tires, king winter get the f**k out of here!
