Has anyone tried oil additive to restore valve stem seals?

No where near New York anyway. it is not a problem find someone who can fix it but it is a costly repair like I said if this stuff can fix it why not to give it a go. just replaced all other gaskets common to leak such as engine bracket gasket, both timing case gaskets, vacuum pump gasket, rocker cover gaskets so I did expect valve stems to fail one day

Try using Valvoline High Mileage FULL SYNTHETIC (not the blend version) 5W-30. Recommended for vehicles with over 75K miles. It has seal softeners and is safe, apparently meets BMW LL-01 standards but is not BMW approved. It is hard to find, even at Walmart where on line they said they had it, but didn't really stock it on the shelf. I got several cases at Amazon for around $50 per shipped free. Worth a try before you shell out big bucks for new guides and seals. CHANGE YOUR OIL every 5000 miles. It's my suspicion that volatile crud levels that harden seals and gaskets build up after that. The 15K oil change interval is dangerous.

Check out post 31
schpenxel's fix his head gasket thread - Page 2 - Bimmerfest - BMW Forums
Valve cover change and new ccv valve hose. Bulletin released by BMW design change to Banks 1-4. Issues with old system caused secondary air codes, smoke during long idles, and oil consumption. also there is a kit out there that lets you replace the valve seals without removing the heads and cam assemblies.

this is very interesting but I still believe this is not a cause of my problem. 1. I don't experience any smoke on cold start. 2. when looked inside of manifold it did not look oily. I am aware about new AGA tool kit which is $759 but delivery to UK is insane $200 also I would have to pay 20% tax. all that would bring it to $1110 for me. it might be worth paying someone to do it.
