Default Has anyone tried oil additive to restore valve stem seals?

as most of you aware about valve stem seals issue on v8 e60 engines this is a costly repair to replace them. has anyone tried any alternatives to fix it such as oil additives or different oil? I understand it is not permanent fix however if it works why not go for it. my 550i has this problem. I am looking to try LUBEGARD BIO/TECH any feedback about this product?

valvetronic is fine I have bad valve stem seals. LUBEGARD claim it can restore seals by softening rubber. there many pros and cons about additives I think I will give it a try

What are your oil change intervals and how long have you owned the car?

Problem with those products is that they soften every gasket, not just the ones you want them to. I wouldn't do it.

Yeah, there are some theories that the ridiculous 15K oil change intervals could contribute to seal problems. The V8s really need to go no further than 7500 on a change to at least help keep the problem at bay. There is a gentleman on the boards (BMWOEM1) that will change those valve stem seals out for $2500 if you can get the car to him in New York...
