Wow, best set of 172 reps I've seen so far, please pose some close ups. By the way, I have OEM 172's on my 550 and there are quiet a few of those balancing weights on my wheels, so I don't think that matters. As long as the wheel is balanced, I don't care how many weights it took. After hitting countless pot holes and whatever, and different tires balance differently, no two wheels are the same, so yours may have one or none, mine may have six. As long as it doesn't vibrate, I'm good.

I noticed the rather large amounts of "counter weights" (...or whatever the name for those little weights is, that the Tire Shop sticks on the wheels in the process of balancing them, prior to install..) on my recently purchased rims. Those are 'cheapo' rims, and they have been holding up nice so far. However, the sheer amount of "weights" - must be around 8 on some of the wheels - really makes me think now... This would prove your point of "vibrations" - or trying to fight them, I guess.

If your 172 replicas are not doing that, you win - they look great on the car!

I'm interested in getting these once my 124s run out of tread... Did they come with the BMW center caps or did the center caps from your previous wheels fit?

Yep they came with the caps, the only thing that they did not come with was the valve stems, my wife just returned her 328I Sedan Lease back to to the dealer and she is debating on taking my car. She likes the Original 18? Factory wheels, for some reason she doesn?t like how they look on my car but I think they look Great. However If she decides on keeping my car, I will be in the hunt for a 2006/2007 M5
