I have the strangest of problems. In trying to figure out if the car is capable of playing MP3's I coded a disc from my Mac and put it in the 6-CDC.( I want to put a Dension GW500 in to get my iPhone's iPod features active ) Not recognized at all. So I thought I guess I need the MP3 upgrade. I decided however to put the MP3 disc into the CD player in the center console. Low and behold it plays...

Has anyone else had this problem? I don't know how to go about this. I guess I will be calling/emailing the sales associate and or the service manager at the dealer to find a solution.

Any other ideas.....?

Working as it should. The in-dash CD plays MP3 but the 6 disc changer does not...

OK. So does the Dension just get installed between the iDrive and the 6-CDC? I will do a forum search on installation advice.

I noted that you had the iPod adapter in your sig. My understanding is that it does not co-exist with the CD changer. Is this correct?

My further understanding is that the Dension GW500 gives you the option of having both the CD changer AND the iPod connected at the same time. Is this correct??

Thanks for the quick responses.

Yes, you can install GW500 in between and keep the CDC that's one option, I choose to make the GW500 as an iPod interface instead so didn't hookup the CDC back.

Correct iPod interface can not co-exist w/ CDC.

You can have both GW500 & CDC daisy chain and keep both but you can only select one during operational, I think to switch use between GW500 & CDC you have to flick the switch (provided by GW500) and maybe require to restart the car.
