Has anybody in the US taken delivery of a 2009 e60 yet with the new idrive controller and nav?

I am curious to see if the new idrive software and hard drive based nav is showing up in the 2009's or not. I have read conflicting reports to whether or not the 2009 5's are getting this or not.

Since the 2009 3's are getting the new idrive, the 5's should be as well. But that would make sense and BMW does not always do things that make sense.

From what I understand the 09 E60's will still have the 08 iDrive software. There will be the new quick access buttons around the controller, but the interface will be the same. 09 is a transition year for the E60 iDrive.

It must have happened or will happen very soon.

Now when the $ is not more worth than ?1,25 (used to be 1,60)
even BMW is willing to export from Germany.

But, a lot of people may not have the money anymore...

The software is the same, but the controller not.

But in EU internet is a fact, meaning a new software.

I wonder if they will put the software on the 2010 e60's if they are not going to put it on the 2009s.

Since the F10 is not going to be out until late 2010 as a 2011 model, they should produce the e60 for another model year beyond 2009.

I wish I would have waited for the new software. From what I have read, it is light years ahead of the current e60 idrive.

Let's just hope for a retorfit. It may be expensive, but I would be willing to do it.

picked up my 09 535i x-drive on saturday. New controller but same software. It is DVD based. Works great. The car rides so great that it really doesn't matter that it doesn't have the "newest" software.

I've played with the new iDrive in a friends, 2009 M3. It's great! So much better than the mine. The resolution is fantastic too.

Unfortunately, I believe the short answer is not or at least that is the answer at the moment.
