Hello Board. I've not been nearly as active on the boards as I was in the years surrounding the purchase of my 2006 530i in May of 2005. Some of you are probably still haunted by the image I posted of the Hyundai Santa Fe I traded in on delivery day ![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
Nearly seven years and just over 90,000 miles later, I just wanted to thank everyone here for their contributions to this community. Over the years I've not only been entertained and educated, but used information from this board to purchase those cool Euro reflectors and learn how to hard-wire my valentine 1 radar detector. As I contemplate purchasing another vehicle and turning my beloved 530i into my "summer driver" I have also decided to take on some more of the maintenance. I just finished my first rotor/brake pad job with the help of MNMIKE's DIY thread (https://5series.net/forums/topic/830...ge__hl__brakes) and also my friends at Bavarian Autoworks. Of course I just now realized that MNMIKE is also from Minnesota....maybe I should have just invited him over to help!
In any event, thanks to everyone here for making this such an awesome community!

I too, bought my 2006 530i in "May 2005".
I did not know anything about the E60 style other the shape of the car.
In any case, this is truly a great forum!
Post some pics, man. Is it titanium silver?

I should clarify that it has NOT been seven years since I posted. Maybe a few years, but not seven! I took delivery of my car seven years ago. I had to sign up under a new username in December because I was unable to recall my password, and the email address that I registered under was long gone.
Maybe I'll try and see if I can figure it out again.

Ok, so apparantly I'm an idiot! I just tried again to "revive" my original account, and succeeded this time. So goodbye jigbim42, and hello big jim.
