What do the dealers do when this happens? I can't imagine all those BMW's damaged.

Thanks for the well words everyone. I got back from the body shop and they have the paint-less dent removal so the guy I know there said he should be able to get everything out. He noticed more little dings on the hood, trunk, and roof than I did. He is quite the perfectionist.

It looks like they will have to paint the front bumper/spoiler. My liner/shield under the car was damaged so that will need to be replaced. I scraped one of my wheels when I hit the curb, and there is a small vibration that was not there before so I may have bent the wheel. I also had water in my fog lights so they might claim those as well.

Anyway, I'm bummed but the insurance should take care of everything.
Uggghhh... sorry to hear about your recent troubles. Glad to hear you made it through ok.

My baby was hirt big time by the (very local) hail storm last sunday. Repair will cost EUR 5.000 (USD7.500). Luckily the panorama roof stayed in tact. I wonder how they are going to repair the aluinium hood. Luckily insurance covers it...

I saw that in the Wall Street Journal today. 30,000 VWs damaged by hail. I'd like to have the PDR franchise there.

I wonder if there is some type of "air-filled blanket" with magnets for quick deployment when one gets caught in the helpless pre-hail period- to quick-cover and protect the car. Anyone heard of such a thing?

Haven't heard of anything like that, but might have a market for it if you are in the inventing mood.

BTT:

Providenceleaf, hope everything gets resolved quickly and as painless as possible (to both you and your wallet).
