I was out on the golf range yesterday when a ball came down right next to me. I was a bit surprised that someone could have sliced it in such a manner to drop next to me. Then there was another one, then more and it quickly became clear it wasn't golf balls but hail that was dropping down. Some were as large as 1/2 the size of a golf ball. They were coming down hard - I got hit by a few and they hurt! The other golfers and I bolted into the little range shop. All the while I was worried about my car. Ironically, I had parked it under a tree - something I typically don't do but it was an "end space", so I broke my rule about parking under trees. At it turns out I think the tree protected the car a bit.

Yesterday I didn't see any hail damage but my car was pretty dirty - it is black and had a layer of pollen on it.

Today I washed the car - OUCH! There were at least a dozen hail dings in the car! Only 2 or three of them are really bad. Most are small "dimples" that show when the car is really clean and the surface is "shimmering". There is one on the hood, plenty on the roof, one on the door, and a few on the trunk.

I figure my insurance will cover it - just not sure if they can fix them all based on where they are located.

Sorry to hear Wolf! Hopefully you can get things sorted in short order. Perhaps a good paintless dent removal place can handle the damage...

Definitely try the paintless dent removal route. I 1993 MB I owned was hit more than 35 times by hail, some very deep. PDR took out every one perfectly and cheaply.

We had hail storm here last April 5, and it came down hard for maybe 3 to 5 minutes. Fortunately, my car is already in the garage. No damage to my car but can't say the same to my house. In fact, I just have a new roof replace. Of'course courtesy of my insurance. GL hopefully PDR can do it.

I live in Charlotte NC and we had a terrible hail storm here the end of March. I had several large dents on the hood and roof. I took it to a body shop and they put it under a black light (mar car is also black) and under that light there were a ton of small dimples that you could see. Car was dimpled up and down and looked like the dimples on a golf ball. My insurance took care of the $2,300 bill.......hopefully your insurance will do the same. Also having my roof replaced on my home as a result of the same storm.

Good luck,

Will
