Unhappy

The brake (which I believe had the original pads) was making hissing noise when braking, so the dealer installed new pads and sensors on all four wheels. Now whenever the car comes to a complete stop it jerks because the brake suddenly "grabs". When I try to avoid this by reducing brake pedal pressure just before a completely stop, the brake squeaks. The car did not do this before the brake job. I am going back to the dealer next week. Is this normal because the brake pads are new (will this behavior go away after putting more miles on the pads)? Did the dealer install cheap pads? What is your guess?

Thanks for the info, but the manual does not say anything like that. Does this really apply to 530? It is not a sports car with big brakes...

It is supposed to have this "comfort stop" feature standard.... The new loaner BMW with only 130 miles on odometer I drove did not do this! I am going to report back once I hear from dealer.

The manual saying to do this? About 99% of the people on the roads don't know about this...but it's the proper way to get your brakes working correctly. That squeaking you hear could go away with this process.

Just do it, like the commercial says....it's worth a try vs. sitting at the dealer needlessly.

OK I did like 15 brake down from 40~50mph to 10mph then drove home for 5 minutes without stopping. There is a dark blue layer on the rotor surface now which I guess it as expected. Hopefully I did not overheat the brake. I will see if this makes the squeaky and grabby behavior go away.

I confirmed that my problem has been fixed by following the bedding in procedure. Apparently the dealer forgot to do this. Thanks for the information!
