Needless to say, the whole lot needed to be reprogrammed....

Which also meant that all my i-drive settings, memories and navigation adresses got wiped too (again)

They appear to have put a newer version of the software on though, I wonder if this is version 13?

The one very visible change I can see is they have changed many of the fonts in the navigation maps.

Not only is much more information shown, it's clearer - especially road numbers. There is a greater level of detail shown at lower zoom. For instance now at the 900 yard level, it shows names of major roads, and B road numbers.

Something odd seems to happened to my throttle mapping I'm hoping this will sort itself after I have driven it around for a bit.

how did you know about the air bag recall....does it only affect E60's built between certain dates? I called BMW GB with my VIN and they said I had no recalls outstanding againt my car.

The supplying dealer rang me initially. A couple of weeks later I received a letter too.

My dealer rang me yesterday, and the car is going in for the recall in two weeks time.

Does anyone know exactly what this re-call is for??

The chap on the phone was a bit vague.....said somthing aout airbag sensors.

The passenger airbag detection sensors are potentially faulty.
