Thumbs up

FYI: Questions below regard sales / dealer conditions and possibilities in BENELUX (Belgium / Luxembourg / Netherlands) area or Germany (Trier).

Please share your experiences / knowledge / prices on the following issues

1. Cost of Aux-In installed when ordered with the car (if it is available in Benelux at all? I only found it in a German pricelist for 42 EUR).

2. Possibility and cost of replacing standard grill with the chrome one (when placing your order) .

3. Possibility and cost of replacing RFTs with conventional tires at placing your order so I don't see RFTs at all  (Which ones are better? Michelins?) - it would be for 135-style 18"

4. Possibility and cost of putting spare wheel in the trunk, either the small one and the full size 135 style 18"
(I am getting M-Kit so I guess no spare for me hence the question..

5. If you don't want to spend 53 EUR on the warning triangle (it is paid extra here!), what do you get? No triangle at all??? Well, I would buy one for 5-7 EUR in the first supermarket around the corner, but I'm just curious... I hope I will get a first-aid kit and a fire-extinguisher afterall, won't I?
(although my friend recently bought Toyota here, and suprice! - none of these for him, for 22.000 EUR car....

Thanks for all the replies and help (I am signing my final order tomorrow at noon...
Any other last minute advice?

My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
Default

2. The chrome grill is now standard on all E60's except the 520d.
The chrome grills cost about € 130 + installation. Negotiate!

3. Buy the wheels and the tires separately. The car comes with standard 16" wheels and non RF's, the V8's with 17" wheels.
Go for Michelin or Continental tires!

4. The spare is standard in EU.

5. The triangle is obligatory in EU (I think) but buy the BMW!

Well, the key word for everything is - negotiate!

Assuming you are ordering a MY07 E60 the aux input is standard install in the US. Check on that for European mkt.

For those who are interested, here's my own reply / update to my previous post.

I already ordered the "final version" of my new E60 and asked all the questions I had directly to my dealer, and here are his official replies:
...well, none of them is good

1. Cost of Aux-In installed when ordered with the car
- not available in Benelux to order with a car. Possible to retro-fit afterwards, for 42 EUR materials + 80 EUR installation.

2. Possibility and cost of replacing standard grill with the chrome one (when placing your order) .
- not a chance, search for aftermarket.

3. Possibility and cost of replacing RFTs with conventional tires at placing your order
- NOT POSSIBLE (dealer made me sound ridiculous in my own ears even daring to ask for this... "RFTs are state-of-the-art technology, why would anyone complain about them...." hmm

4.Possibility and cost of putting spare wheel in the trunk, either the small one or the full size 135 style 18"
- yep, ordered the small one - for 90 EUR extra (no spare when ordered M-Kit or any wheels that come with RFTs on them), normal-size (the same as 135 18") - not possible.

But, well - my car is ordered, and hopefully will arrive here right after Easter....
Oh, AND DID I MENTION...? I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I only found it in a German pricelist for 42 EUR). wow mine was 150? installed but works perfect.2. Possibility and cost of replacing standard grill with the chrome one (when placing your order) .
that one was 150? too, or see ebay for cheaper but orig.545 and 550i cost that amount.3. Possibility and cost of replacing RFTs with conventional tires at placing your order so I don't see RFTs at all  (Which ones are better? Michelins?) - it would be for 135-style 18"
Bridgestone Re50 my guess but mine came w RFT no issue yet, but will anyway replace for 20"s...
4. Possibility and cost of putting spare wheel in the trunk, either the small one and the full size 135 style 18"
(I am getting M-Kit so I guess no spare for me hence the question..
sorry no idea I have RFT and no spares.
5. If you don't want to spend 53 EUR on the warning triangle (it is paid extra here!), what do you get? No triangle at all??? (although my friend recently bought Toyota here, and suprice! - none of these for him, for 22.000 EUR car.... triangle I ordered why not for a 60k+ car? but of course you have to have a triangle also the "yucky" flourescent vest etc.

Thanks for all the replies and help (I am signing my final order tomorrow at noon...
