Well after my experience with a buy back from Irvine BMW, found here -

My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.

Sounds like you did not have to fight too much for a buy-back?
Any words of advice for me dealing with my engine vibration? Not sure how much I want them pulling apart things and putting them back together.

Awesome! You got another one! So no right drifting right? Glad you decided to stick with the E60... WOW... I'm suprised... I hear of quite a few buy backs from BMW with the E60... sad and scary kinda.
