Thumbs up

My new black kidneys arrived. Not sure if I should install them as they are, or if I should go to the trouble of having them sprayed in my car colour.

I trolled through some threads about it and saw some pics. One was of a dark blue car that had them installed without painting and it didn't quite look right (although that maybe was just because the car was dark blue). One was of a black car and they'd been sprayed car colour and they looked awesome.

I just wondered if most people are installing without spraying.

Just install them and then take them off if you dont like the way it looks... I mean you have them already so why not? they are easy to remove

Ha ! Good one. I read all about what a difficult job it can be. It's a lot easier to ask first

I Hope to see a metallic black car with unpainted black kidneys.

I'm off to buy a can of spray paint either way. Never know if/when it'll be needed. I imagine I'll need to spray a clear laquer on it after the paint (like they do on metallic cars).

I have the Saphire Black and installed unpainted black kidneys. It looks fine. You'll rip your hands up,but it takes only about 10 mins. Get a screw driver and reverse pry the clipson the siders. Use your new ones as a guide as to where your current clips are. The side ones are the bitch!

Painted!

They do look better (even off the car) painted. For the cost of a tin of high-gloss black paint I figured there was no point not doing it.

How much did you pay for them?

I would have had a mint pair from my '05 pre-LCI.

If you should decide to paint them, it's a hell of on job to do,
if you want them to last over the winter.
