I took my 545i to BMW for programing and software updates to the transmission, and at the same time I asked them to enable the eye-browse. He said they may not be able to do it depending on the year the car was made. He then called me later saying that my car is done and that the eye-browse were enabled.

Looks great!

The transmission is working nicely so far, no kicks or bangs. Crossing all fingers.

My 545i was built in October 2003 during October fest hehe!

Kind of a dumb thing to say considering the eyebrows were built into the car in the first place.

What happened was there was a software update in the past that inadvertently disabled the eyebrows. Another update was used to fix it.

BTW, (I don't know if you knew this) on 2004 545i, watch out for the MPM (microprocessor module) that is located at the bottom of the spare tire well. If it rains hard and the drain holes from your sunroof are clogged, water can seep into the battery area and trunk which could fry that module. I believe there was a recall that relocates the MPM to the side wall of the trunk away from water damage.

Ha ha I was thinking some sort of KITT Knight Rider deal where the lights on the eyebrows would move side to side.

Got pics? I decided against this mod because I have LED AE's... I thought the amber brow wouldn't look right and decided to leave mine off on my 05 545i. If I find some pics that can talk me into it I can still change my mind by tomorrow morning.

I don't have LED AE's, so I am not sure if pics will help.

+1

I was expecting an eye-movement controlled browser and wondered why it wasn't posted in the lounge.

eye-browse != eyebrows
