Starting yesterday, everytime I lock my car it does not beep. I checked in i-drive and the audible confirmation is still on. The LED in the mirror blinks rapid for about 5 seconds after the car locks. When I unlock the car it does the double beep still.
Also every other time i open the trunk the alarm goes off. Im at a loss here any ideas?

I had the same problem, it turned out to be the hood sensor. No beeping means it's not getting armed. Not a fully closed door or hood would cause that, or a malfunctioning sensor.

I went to all the doors and trunk and hood tonight and opened and closed them. Actually I just changed out my grills to black ones and RPI scoop, and it stopped working a few days after that. Ill have to play around the the switch tomorrow and see if its stuck or just shot. Ill have to see what loaner they give us for our X5 maybe Ill get a freebie if we get a 5er!

I agree that it sounds like a malfunctioning sensor...
Take a look at the alarm document posted in the technical gallery for more information about what the blinking light means, etc.:

Mine beeps, but even if I kick my car, alarm won't go off. Not only that but before when I first got the car I'd be able to wave my hand inside the car when it was armed and it would go off, now nothing.....
