The non-sport package 530i's in the US are arriving either with Goodyear RS-A's or Continental CV95's.

Any experience with either -- especially regarding road noise?

Goodyear Eagle RS-As... grippy when dry but wet traction, especially in a car with tons of torque, can easily cause oversteer if you're too anxious on the throttle. Not a great tire for slightly damp to completely wet roads if you're taking corners, but in straightaways, not a problem. They're quiet when new, but after about 10,000 miles, they slowly begin to develop road noise.

I have the Goodyears w/ just over 17,000 miles on them. I agree with the wet traction assessment but have to disagree about the tire noise. No such issue in my experience. Overall pleased but will go with something else when its time for a change, which is not anytime soon from the looks of the tread...

Had RS-A's on a Grand PRix a few years ago and loved them - great all season traction and we get our fair share of bad weather in Ohio. I replaced them with Michelin XGT something at the recommendation of the tire guy at the tire store and noticed signifcantly worse all season traction. I do not drive at the edge so I do not know about the difference in performance of the two tires. But I did notice a significant difference in bad weather. The worn Goodyears were better than the new Mich's.

I have Continental CV95's and they did good during the winter. Got some some snow here in Poughkeepsie, NY.
