A beauty! For the iPod connector you'll need an aftermarket unit, you can't connect to the stock stereo on anything prior to a 997.2 Take a look at Mobridge or Dension. Both units work well, I have the Mobridge iPod/Bluetooth combo unit. Whichever one you get, just make sure they're compatible with the 996.

Just got the ipod connector thing done, some guy invented an aux cable- you pretty much plug it in the back of the radio instead of the CD CHANGER...took 10 minutes and cost $38 just did it!

But you can't control the iPod from the audio unit or view and select artist/track and playlist information on PCM - those cables will provide access to any auxiliary input, but won't deliver any kind of integration. Proper integration on anything prior to a 997.2 requires an aftermarket unit.

I myself prefer to use the ipod itself, cuz i have a little nano, and i just have it in my hand like a remote, its actually easier i think that way, was never interested in looking through playlists forever on a big unit and turning knobs, ect...the little nano is like a remote in your hand.

Congrats. Be sure to check out Rennlist forum for inspiration and help. I would also suggest attending a local Porsche Club meeting in your region, and join PCA. You will really enjoy the car even more.

Nice addition and glad to see it already had the sport side skirts which greatly improve the cars appearance.
