Hello all,

I wanted some input from all.
I was shopping around for a car this afternoon found really clean e60 at a BMW dealer in NY.
The car was 2008 528xi with 60,000 miles on it.
Carfax had a clean title one owner, assuming its all hwy miles.
After negotiating they dropped the price to 23,300.
It drove really smooth had new tire on it, but I still think 60,000 is too much.

Do you think this is too much or I got a decent deal?

Thanks

Carfax doesn't always have all the detail you will need to know the car's history. Ask the BMW dealer to provide you the car;s service and warranty repair records. 60K miles is a bit higher than average for an '08 but highway miles are easiest on these cars.

Negotiate for the extended warranty to 100K and you're good to go. Also make sure which maintenance is coming up soon.

Thank you for quick response, I did ask for maintenance record for the car. Everything was done at a BMW dealership, the only warranty repair was two light bulb repair around at 30,000 mile, and 40,000 mile.

I asked him about the 100k warranty because of the millage but they gave me some information about some third party thing that BMW accept at their dealership.

Easycare? Not worth it. BMW offers extended warranty and try and get it from the dealer.

Once you are past 60k miles, you become ineligible for extended warranty and maintainence, so the price drops significantly.

i would pass....unless u really want a 528...i think u can get a car with similar mileage but with a more powerful engine and perhaps navigation as well....

you may not think u need navigation, but take it from a guy who thought the same thing and bought his E60 w/o it....that ugly ass small screen w/ the lowest resolution known to man will annoy you faster than you think.

my vote, keep looking and buy a car with more options, more power and a similar price...consider an 07 or 06 but with the same miles perhaps?

Yes it was easy care, I was not even thinking about getting that one.
The car is just over 60,000, I think it was 60,200 or something. Do you think I could still negotiate extended warranty?

Thanks

The only reason I chose 528 was because I just did not want to deal with fuel pump issue.
I'm coming from 2006 328xi was impressed how e60 drove, so I kinda really wanted the at that moment, but now my second thought is saying i should look more.
I did put 3,000 down on that car which will hold it until Monday afternoon to get full down back.

Thanks for your input.

The hpfp is warranted for 100k miles with no questions asked. For some people, it's been a nightmare. But if a car has seen 50-60k miles, chances are the hpfp has been replaced and is all good. Just my 2c.
