2008 BMW 5-Series 535i Sport Premium -- $32,998
Mileage:16,094

The fuel pump has not been replaced on this vehicle..this particular 535 happens to be a manufacturer?s good will buyback. The CCC unit (navigation) has been reprogrammed as it failed twice on the original customer. The car has the balance of factory warranty good until 11/2011.

has anyone heard of this CCC issue? Is this a good deal? I'm thinking about offering 30k..

I wouldn't touch this car unless that price included a CPO warranty.

Don't even touch that car with a 10 foot pole.

got this reply from the dealer...thoughts?

"A buy back cannot be CPO!

Probably what drew you to these buy backs is the low price. That said, a buy back can be a perfectly fine car, depending on the issue it had. I have seen BMW buy back cars for some very nonsensical issues such as a glove box not closing properly to a seat not being comfortable. I?m doing one right now because a customer says the sunroof is rattling when it is clear that it only rattles when it?s very cold outside and the metal contracts?."

So a buy back cannot be a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED car?

The obvious reason why the price is so low is because the dealer wants you to assume all the risk. The rest of the dealer's explanation is complete b/s.

If the car can't be CPO'ed - walk away and don't look back!

Lemoned Cars can't be CPO'ed, "Good Will" buy back cars are CPO'ed all the time.

CCC replaced 2x , that is a very interesting issue, especially since it is a 08 with out the New HD based system. I've heard of the HD based ones going down, but few of the gen 2/2.5 ones.

I'd say No Joy....

Pukka, thanks. The car does have the remainder of the original warranty, but not sure if its worth the risk

No way, I wouldn't chance it. I would, however, test them by asking for free extended warranty. If they throw that in, I might consider it.

Seems to me, that if BMW could have successfully fixed this car...then it would NOT have been bought back. What magic has happened, that they have now permanently fixed what ever the issue was. I would not try to save a few thousand by buying a "buy back" car. ONE repair could easily cost every bit of your "saved" money.

If You have enough green You can hire a lawyer and make dealership to buyback the car in US for not being comfortable enough That is so lame...
