Does anyone know of a good everyday tire for a 545i, I do not drive my car hard, and most of my driving is 50 miles each day to work. I am looking for a good quiet tire that will give me a good ride, but I do not want to spend $300+ per-tire. Any help would be great. Thanks

Don't know the price but the Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires that came from the factory on my 545 were very solid all-season tires. When I changed wheels, I stepped up to the PS2's but those are expensive.

Edit: The Eagle's are $167 each on Tirerack.com...

Falken FK 452 (only do not be persuaded for some other Falken by a dealer as not all their range are in the same league) are well worth a look and are a good bang for your buck tire. I did quite a bit of research on tests and user feed back and it came up trumps in most cases so I gave them a chance and have no regrets.

They hangs on really well in both wet and dry and despite being high performance tire they are quiet on all surfaces.

It was a significant leap forward in noise and ride without performance sacrifice on the Bridgestone RE050A R/F that were standard on my car. They are also superior in noise when compared to the Conti Sport Contact 2's and Dunlop Sport Maxx tires my wife has had on her car.

Note; Even though you drive sedately you still need to stop as well as possible and have a good as possible handling for emergency manoeuvres - so go with a high performance tyre in any case.

Pilot a/s are 268 per tire-hardly cheap-I should know I shelled out the cash from them and burned up the rears 8kmiles later-ouch.

I have been searching and searching and I think the Pirelli nero zero m and s or just regular nero zero summer is the best bargain for the performance. In an all season test that tested all the top ones including the much more expensive eagle F1 a/s and mich pilot sport a/s-the zero nero came out of top. They are 168 per tire I belive as well which is about as cheap as youll get for a top tire. They are a tad on the softer side so will give a comfy ride and I heard teh noise is not bad. I will be going with these next time around

After going through two sets of very noisy Continentals on my '04 I recently put on a set of Goodyear Eagle Response Edge. Most of my driving is on highways and I wanted a quiet tire with all season capabilities. I am very pleased and can recommend the Goodyears. Local dealer set me up for less than $180 per tire.

How many miles do you have on the Dunlops? If you have less than 20,000 miles on them you might be able to get them replaced for free. There is a service bulletin out for this issue. I just got four new Dunlop run-flats courtesy of BMW/Dunlop.

ive really enjoyed my Bridgestone AS performance tires. they are quiet, go well in the rain and have plenty of legal speed grip on the roads. No need to waste money on a full summer tire IMO. plus im very happy to have gotten rid of the run flats, just as I did with the e90's run flats
