Just get a motorized retractable license plate holder. A number of members on here have it.

The grills are a factory OEM part. I ordered them from Tischer BMW (http://getbmwparts.com). Part numbers are 51712155446 right oem black and 51712155447 Left oem black. $60 per grill, great customer service and fast shipping. No complaints at all. I could have purchased matte black grills for less but I think the gloss black looks a lot better...at least on a black car.
Powder cote the 172^s black.....problem solved I will make my 135s satin black this spring../M

Since your going for the Darth Vadar look...it is only fitting that you get wheels powdered coated in Vadar Black

Ha! That's awesome - and that's exactly the style wheel I'm looking at.

I think those are the VMR 710?
Get with Michael from Acute Performance, I think he sells those. I got my Avant Garde M310 wheels from him, and he uses the same powder coater as eAs

Thanks for the kind words. Yes I carry Avant Garde and VMR and can powdercoat them. Let me know if you're interested.

Which specific kit are members buying for the motorized retractable license kit? And how is the wiring done?

Nice gloss black grills btw!
