I have an 06 550, Logic 7, Ipod integration, CIP 24.02.....
On several occasions I have parked my car, removed the key fob, exited, locked the door with the fob.....everthing is off
I come back later and before unlocking I see the idrive is illuminated and can hear music coming from the car.
When I unlock with the fob and get in it remains on (also the time/temp display between the two guages is on and backlight). If I press the start/stop button without inserting the Fob, it kills the power to the audio. The condition is of course intermittant and 90% of the time I am listening to my ipod when the car is shut down so not sure if it only happens with ipod or with other radio/CD function.
Any ideas besides carrying a spare battery around :'( ...Thanks

This has happened a lot with older CIP software.
I don't remember which software version fixes this, but the problem itself is well known.
You probably only need newer software for your idrive.

Well, you're wrong.
There is something wrong, even with the newest software there are bugs all over.
But I know what you mean.

I'm running 24.02, but will go back to 24.0 to get my eyebrows back. Maybe that will solve it.

Interesting
A also had a conversation with the service guys at my local
dealer about the Progman CIP's.
But the fact is, they showed me a lot of A4's what the Progman
had done but it was all in code - I didn't understand crap.
I also know that our dealer has a direct IP connection to
the BMW Ag Service System, so I kind of belive them.
They did invest a lot in the system.
But also see this link.

Thanks for the info. I am going on the word of my dealer. They generally provide a good service experience, but I don't always trust what they say.
I've had the 24.02 for a while now so I don't think the car will come around as it did with your fan trouble. I am now wondering if it really is version 24.2 or if the dealer is misinforming me. They say they contacted BMW North America who advised them to roll back to version 24.
We'll see what happens.
