After trying to drive last winter on my stock tires I have decided to replace my 18 in 124 wheels with Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's 245-40-18's on all 4 tires. We don't have snow all winter in Chicago but I think its best to have a winter tire set up for this year.

My summer tires are 166 wheels with Michelin PS2's which are like slicks in the snow.

I know that Dunlop has had a recent recall on a specific size of Winter Sport tire, but I do not consider this a reason for changing my decision to go to anything else. All my research tells me this is one of the best snow/ performance tires out there. If i were in Buffalo NY I might go with a studless type snow tire but im in Chicago with occasional snow.

So now i have a set of Bridgestones 050A Runflats for sale with less than 1000 miles on them... fronts 245/40R-18, rears 275/35R-18. I have 5000 miles on my 2 year old 550 now and most of those miles were on my PS2's.

I am located in the north suburbs of chicago so message me if you are interested in my Bridgestones.

I prefer the Blizzak LM-22/25's over the Dunlops.

They certainly sound cooler. As if Snoop Dogg made up the name ... We rollin' on Blizzaks in the Hizzak. Ah Yeah!

Yeah I checked on the Blizzaks. The Dunlops were higher rated for my application.

Depends on what type of weather you have. I guess the technology changes quickly with respect to snowtires. I did alot of looking into this before I spend this kind of money. lol

your going to love the 3D's I had those on my e46 and now I got the pirelli 210's and I'm thinking after the last few days of freezing rain that I should have stuck with the wintersports. I guess we'll see further into winter how things go.

Buddy has the D3's on his Acura and he likes them.

I got the Per. SnowSport 210's for my bimmer and they perform they way I'd expect a winter sport tire to run.

All the winter sport tires are giving up true deep snow performance (5+" of snow) no matter what one you go with. Ice Performance though some winter sports are better for. But in reality many of us deal with ice under the snow and thats tough cookie for any sport winter tire or even a dedicated snow tire to deal with.

P.S.: I use the 17" for winter as the most people will tell you 18" in winter will give you less traction, plus they cost more.

I just put that same rubber on my car with Sport A7 wheels...I'll post some pix up this weekend..

I've been happy so far with this application on dry & cold conditions. I'm sure they'll do fine once we get some snow too.
