ksports. i think i have maybe 3500-4000 miles on them. just started hearing a clunk sort of noise coming from the front right. i just started hearing it maybe 3 days ago. before that i do remmeber hitting a pretty good bump.I usually have my music on loud so maybe its been there for awhile, but i doubt it. i listen to everything in the car. Anyways. when i got over bumps big or tiny i get this clunk clu clu clu unk unk unk... so i took wheel off to see if all was tight. looked snug. i didnt check the top nut. but i did give the lower spring collar a few turns tighter. put wheel on went for drive. sound got louder and almost constant. could it be tightening the collar on the spring to tight is the issue? i wanted to loosin it back to where it was orginally and then a little more to see if it went away but i stripped my mcgard lock tool!! sweet. so now i gotta ride sround listeing to this shit till i can get wheel off and try again.? any ideaS?

you may need to tighten that collar even more. the clunking could be the spring hitting the upper mount of the coilover.

Have you been doing the maintenance? KSport does recommend lithium grease applied every now and then to maintain lube on the shafts of the shocks. Maybe just applying some lube to the shafts will help? I maintain mine, I have way more miles than you do too, somewhere near 12k. Try it

Also, check to make sure they are setup correctly. I mean the height of each corner, I had a little noise (not like you describe) after I had them on for about 1k. I checked the level of each wheel and the left front and the right rear were actually higher than the the other 2 wheels so my car was essentially unbalanced. I adjusted the height and now it's slightly higher on the left side than the right (to compensate for me when I get in) and smooth as silk.

Yeah before you go crazy turning the collars, make sure there isn't dirt trapped on the threads that would be bad

I had the same problem but i have H&R coil overs .ended up being a worn bushings on the lower control arm . Fixed 90% of the noise I was experiencing. Check your upper and lower control arm and steering bushings .you can jack up your car with wheel on and try to move the wheel around in and out and up and down to hear any noices to pin point location. Also to gain leverage i used a pole placed between the pavement and tire to help move the tire up and down. Good luck!

update! it was the top nut! it was a tidge bit loose. maybe one full turn. tighten it up and did the other one as well. no more noise!! thank good. ill tell u tho it was a pain in the ass because the nut is kind of sunken down into the strut hole so a regular wrench wont work. had to get a wrech with a angled head which still didnt sit flush on the nut. u really need a 90 degree angle wrecnh. then stick a allen key in the hex hole to keep shaft from spinning and give it a crank with the wrench. can i use spray lithium? was gonna power wash some of the salt and crap off them this weekend and spray then with lube?

Hey, that's exactly the stuff I use. That's the best when you need to lube your rods wait that didn't come out right, eh, you know what I mean (warning may cause skin irritation )
