So guys, what's new on the US '07 compared to the '06?

And hey, no offencive.

This has someting to do with thinking...
"Ultimately, by designating model years we're drawing arbitrary lines along a continuum of constantly changing parts, processes, and now firmwares. Who is to say which arbitrary line is any more meaningful and valid than the other? Tradition? Convention? You?"

Answer: Not me, only a consumer with some tradition.

You: ?

BMW: ?

I get an email from my dealer saying good news, the car I ordered is already in production and I should get it next month for sure. I'm excited for sure, but then I start to think. Doesn't it take about 8-10 weeks from time of order to the time it gets delivered to your dealer. If that's the case, 07 production starts on March 1st so I shouldn't even get it until May. Could I be getting an 06 model?

The email says status: 150 - production started, Model: 0753 550i, port location: PHMPOA. Maybe my sales rep is misinformed. Maybe he meant the end of next month. The email also says I can track my car through bmwusa website, but I couldn't find any links there to track my vehicle. I'd appreciate any help, thanks.
I got my production number. When you put the production number into owners circle it gives you the Model Year of the car.

In the US the model year starts as it does, marketing...

Do not worry Veight, it will have the specs you ordered.

Still, all I'm trying to say is that the German factory E60 MY starts in
September every year and then the mayor changes will be made then
but there will be exceptions, market ruling...

You'll have a genuine US MY '07 to sell foreward.

The engine changes can happen at any time, as all BMW evolution can and will,
but at this point the 550i V8 and 530i R6 engines are so new, that nothing will happen
in a while - short while.

But be sure to know that small or larger changes will be done be BMW's all the time.

Would you just sit and wait for something to happen...

It isn't too early. I got my 2006 on April 18th 2005 - and it was at the dealer on the 16th.

Are you located in the West Coast?

Wow, didn't mean to get anyone upset. But, I did go to BMW's website this morning and entered my production code and it did say 07 550i jet black, so I guess I'm getting an 07. US version or whatever, I'm happy. I'm going to purchase the M-kit and 166M wheels this weekend. I must be nuts spending this kind of cash on a car, but then again my friend says the worlds going to end in about 15 years based on the Mayan calander. So I guess it won't really matter. Wow, I feel better now.
