hey guys and gals..i put up a post a couple months ago about an 07 530xi I found at rallye BMW by me for 21,995. Car has 50k miles and the remainder of the CPO warranty left on it which is another year from april. I got the car down to 21,400 but there are no special financing deals going on with the 07...I was at the dealer yesterday and we were going over numbers and BMW was offering a 6.4% APR on the used car, now I can go get outside financing for alot lower of an APR but we were working numbers on an 08 528XI same color, options, etc and the car was 29,900 but they are offering either 0.9 or 1.9% APR...also offering first 3 months payments are made by BMW...now the difference in total was only about $50-$75 a month from the 07 to the 08. What do you guys think I should do?? Its going from a 07 pre-LCI to an 08 LCI which is a totally different car...but also comes with the $8000 higher price tag...I also found a 528i Sport for the same price but I feel with the NY winters I will need the Xi...

OPINIONS??? Im at a loss and want to buy a car this week!

 

I live in NY and the RWD is fine if you know how to drive. If you like the 528i get it. What dealer you looking at? I saw a 528i sport for cheap at Raylle last week.

 

Only got that down $500? Dude you should see my friend negotiate on cars. Hes insane, he could probably get that ish for 15k lol. Couple years ago he bought a brand new F150 that had a sticker of 22k, and he got it for 13k.

 

the 528i is at rallye...its the monaco blue one for 29,900..the 07 530 was already priced at 21,995 which is super low for that car when they have other 07's for 26+...BMW never negotiates..on any of the other cars they have that are on special they are un-negotiable on the price. Doesnt matter if you walk or not they wont budge.

 

i bought my car from BMW of Bloomfield Hills here in the metro Detroit area....it was priced at $25K i was able to haggle them down to $22K out the door....maybe you need to elevate the negotiation up to the sales manager level or perform an internet search to show that you can get a similar car from another place (do a national online search or something). ultimately i told the sales manager that i was for sure going to buy an E60....that was a constant, the only variable was which dealer i was going to buy it from...and the first one to give me the price i wanted would be the first one to get my $22K lol

good luck. id go with the 07 and private financing...its better to have less debt than more debt in this economy.

 

yeah your right...im going for the 07..i negotiated down to 21k and now im making them throw in window tinting, NAV update CD's, and the iPod interface cable...

Also do you think its worth trying to get another year added onto the CPO or the 1 year remaining is fine?

you could prob, get the car down to 28000 i would push for that and def. make sure you get the 0.9 or i actually think on used its 2.9 for 60 or 66 months. remember they mark these cars up alot. negotiate and tell them your there to make a deal no BS!. they will work with you if they know your game and make sure you research the kbb and use that for some leverage or just do what i did give them a BS price after they give you there BS and when they ask you where you got your numbers from say i was thinking the same about your numbers. thats when they know its on ....

I already tried to negotiate the price on the 08 and they werent moving at all...but now I come to find out that they dont offer 1.9%, maintanence and the 3 free payments they only offer ONE of the three...which sucks and kind of makes me want to just get the 07 and upgrade in a few years
