Hey guys,

I am getting a 04 525I today. I haven't actually driven the car yet, but I am getting from a BMW dealer at a pretty good rpice. I had an e39 that was destroyed by hail, so I am replacing it with this. The car has about 69K miles on it. Give me some things that I should be looking for when inspecting and driving this car? I have an e36 that I can tell you anything about, the e39 I was just about to start becaise the waranty was running out. I am pretty handy with tools, but don't know much about the upkeep of the e60. If there are some parts that are worn down that i need to look out for, please let me know so that I can check them out before I even leave the dealer.

At that milleage, ALL fluids should be replaced. Including transmission and differential. Sparks should be replaced, maybe even the coolant expansion tank + hoses just to prevent any issues in the future. Belts could also be replaced as a preventative measure.

Welcome to the forum!

Things to watch out for:
1) brake pads and rotors (wear and tears with 69k miles)
2) door seal (squeaking noise inside the cabin when car is in motion)
3) all required maintanence services performed (ask for the record)

Welcome, and congrats on the acquisition!

If you are getting it from the dealer, hopefully, it's a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) model, which should have the extended warranty to cover any breakages that may arise. Good luck!
