Hi,

I recently had my LCI 535d software updated and ever since I'm getting the dreaded 'hesitation' as I slow down at a junction for example then suddenly accelearate to exit the revs now shoot up to around 1500rpm and nothiing until a split second but which actually feels like an eternity later the car just takes off as if finally finding a gear. Anyone have this issue and a resolution? I thought this was a thing of the past with the new 6 Speed ZF box.

Got the same car and a software update in mar 10. No hesitation, on the contrary the shifts are lightning quick and so is the throttle response so something must be amis if you have noticeable lag.

thank I see you also have the sport button. The car is in having the steering rack changed due to an active steering fault so they wil look in to it after it is replaced. I just dont hold up much hope of them finding anything.

Sorry, no I don't know specifically but I take it that they gave me the latest as of that date, whatever that version was? There is a thread somewhere in here that shows the versions.

The specific document you should browse thru is attached here for quick ref. Go to the section about 1/3 down (page 4) titled "automatic transmission"

Dam I thought the .pdf document described the fault perfectly. I gave it to my dealership but apparently it does not apply to my gearbox/engine. They feel Should drive the car for 1K miles allowing the gearbox to adjust, I told them I don't hold up much hope of things getting better.

Can any 535d drivers try and replicate the sympton? it's driving me mad. when driving slow down to an almost standstill then accelearete away, on mine the revs shoot up but nothing much happens for a split second then the car shoots off?

Any help greatly appreciated

My 530d does this also it drives me mad some times it goes like stink other times it doesn't. Do you think maybe ur hitting the kick down in a low gear and this is why rev shoot up then it recovers switches the rite gear then shoots off. I am hoping a remap will iron all my lags and poor throttle response

I've experienced this on my old X5 and Land Rover Discovery but I was told that was how the transmission worked and nothing could be done. One of the reasons I bought the 535d was because there was no sign of the hesitation during the test drive, but now ever since the software upgrade there is the hestation when slowing down then trying to take off again.

A remap will help with the pickup once the car starts moving but it wont help or remove the hesitation, I know as my X5 and Disco was remapped, it helps but it doesnt cure the problem.
