Gear shift boot

I was in the dealership today and I notice that all the E60's had a gear shift boot that matched the interior. Looking at mine, I have gray interior with a black boot. Is this just something that they do for the Europian car or have I been cheated!!! <_<

Mine is black as well. Though the top of the shifter is titanium looking so it matches my trim. It may be a Euro thing. Never really took notice except in the car brochure. I wonder if we could change that while we are here.?

It may be that the SMG boots are all black. I just have the 6speed.
I envy you for being able to drive your machine on the autobahn all the time. I only got a little taste of what a real highway system could be when I was on my ED trip.

not a 545 thing, I think it is a Auto vs. Manual thing. I have a Jan 04 build 545 w/ Steptronic and Gray leather and interior. The boot around my gear shifter is black leather.

I've asked this question earlier and I believe its a steptronic thing. The manual cars have a boot that match the interior color..
