Hi people.
After installing white interior lights and fixing PDC in my 2006 550i, I want to change the OEM gear knob.
I want to ask experts if I can put the one for 2012 in my 2006 ?
I can work to get power for illumination. I am more concerned about the size right now !
I called BMW they said no, its not compatible as shown in their system because it comes with wires for illumination and in my e60, there isn't any plug and play for that.
I asked about size and they said that it does not show up in their system. All they could tell is that it is not compatible.

So, Has anyone done that yet ?
I want to replace pic 1 and 2 with pic 3.

Dude did you see my last post in your other topic? Search for shifter on here and the mods board. Also motivemods.com sells a retrofit kit. Go to the site and email them your questions, they usually have crazy fast response times. I can put up a few pics of what I replaced mine with tomorrow if you like. Good luck on finding what you're looking for.
