I have a 2008/ 528xi.
For some reason my avg MPG readout in the center of the dash always reads 21.5 MPG.
I have reset it and it and it goes back to 21.5 MPG - no matter how I drive.
has anyone had this issue and could I simply always average 21.5MPG?

I drive the same route almost every day and get the same average for weeks and weeks...also after a reset.
When I went to Paris the other day and drove a long stretch at different speeds, it finally changed. Now I returned to my regular trips and the avg is back to the usual...

If you are doing the same regular journeys at similar speeds then it is not unusual for your average to be the same .Just to check,reset and do a test run over (say)30 miles at a lower cruising speed than normal and your average figure should be higher.
