E60 in Canada doesn't offer garage door opener as standard or option anymore. Anyone know where I can get one? And is it possible to install it myself?

That seems strange. Your service department cant order a rear view mirror with the Universal Garage Door Opener?

Nope, they said it's not available in Canada anymore. For example, if a E60 is in an accident and by any chance the garage door opener is damaged, they cannot replace it. Isn't it stupid?

Can this garage door opener also be used as a laser jammer? Not that I want one of course, they're illegal......

According to the bmw.ca, the garage door opener is standard in the 550......
However, it's not available as an option on the 525/530.

If you're talking about the HomeLink-equipped rearview mirror. It's on the accessories catalog here in the US for the e60. Maybe you can order one for the US?

Just got back from a delaer and got original BMW accesories catalogue for E60.
Besides the expected stuff like wheels, bike holder for the roof, umbrella and holders it offer this:

Adaptive lights

Comfort seats with massage functions

Front and rear bumper cameras

Idependent heating

Garage openers in the mirror !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111

Alarm

Extra xenon lights instead current foglights????

Does this mean that all this can be retrofitted????????

Obviously!!! This would answer many questions....

Wow, I picked up my catalog about a month ago. It didn't have anything on your list except the homelink rearview mirror. Wonder if those would be offered in the US soon.

Agreed. I meant to say if the other items on Peter530i's list would be available in the US. Like front and rear bumper cameras. My MDX has the rear camera for when you're reversing. Pretty cool and useful feature.
