Default GA6HP26Z Oil change - Still problems

Hi!
I did a oilchange on my BMW 530D and still have some issues.
Changed 8L of oil, pan and filter, here are some images of how i did it. quite easy operation i have to say!

But i still have problems with my gearbox at 1500-2000rpm, works better in DS and in D-mode.

Whats left to do?
Change the converter?ff

The pulsing of the RPM is due to the torque converter clutch locking and unlocking. The fix will be a rebuilt torque converter.

Alright, thanks for your answers.
Where can i get the converter repaired, is that something that bmw does or will they just sell me a new one?

what is the approximatley cost of this operation?

I don't think BMW will sell you just a converter. They'll service the valve body, or a complete transmission.

Remember ZF makes the gearbox, not BMW. Any place that deals with ZF transmissions in your area should be able to service just the converter. Here in the US, you can order a converter from thectsc.com

good luck with the car.

Look for a ZF specialist in your area. Even if they don't rebuild Torque Converters themselves they will know someone that will. In the UK the average price for a rebuilt torque converter is £250 GBP, labour to install it is extra.

If you are getting someone to do the work, be sure to tell them that you recently changed your trans fluid. They may be able to save it for reuse to keep costs down.

Thanks alot for your responses!

One more additional thing just, when the gearbox is Cold, it works real smooth.
Is that common or do i have some other fault?

It also works better in DS mode than in the D mode.

You said "8 liters"
Both times I've changed my oil in my 530xi (with ZF 6speed 19Z) I use less than 6 liters. Maybe your transmission takes more than mine. But maybe it's being overfilled??
When did the problems start?

I think you may be 2 liters overfilled. You say it runs fine "when cold" but has problems when it warms up. Automatic transmission fluid expands with increasing temperature. Maybe being 2 liters overfilled is OK until the fluid expands enough to cause problems.

I checked at thectsc.com and both the 6HP26 and the 6HP19 kits are provided with 6 liters of fluid, not 8. I'm familiar with the 6HP19 because my 530xi has one and I've changed fluid in it twice now, with good results. I don't think I could possibly force 8 liters into it.

Just my two cents. Good luck.

Hey latitude39 or anyone,

I am getting ready to change my transmission fluid, mechatronic sleeve and filter this weekend. Is there anything I should be cautious about? I will be using my Craftsman multi-meter to make sure the pan/fluid temperature is between 40 and 50 Degree Celsius. My 2006 BMW 530i is at around 86,000 right now.

OP, good luck with your problem and I hope it's just overfilling of fluid.

Thanks!
