Ive not been on the forum for a while so ive missed out on alot of info.

Im on software V13.3. Has there been they new ones that improve idrive? I know about V14 but that has problems and i dont need it.

Im asking this because im getting an engine remap.

Ive got bus nav and no bluetooth.

The latest is 15.3, and 16 will come in March.

Iceman, do you know if the car produced this week already include the new modifications.

I have a problem to figure that from one day to another they can switch without closing the factory.

I had 15.2 installed recently and this fixed (for me) :

- Random (False) RFT warnings
- Better behaviour of the rain sensor
- Instant iDrive booting (rather that several seconds)
- mpg guage is more accurate.
- a new "hour chime" opion appeared.
- Auto Mode of Aircon seems to work better than before

Also the Business Nav SW was upgraded :

- Directional arrows appear to rotate with upcoming road direction
- They removed the stupid feature of telling you to "turn left" off of a roundabout AFTER you had already made the turn. This only happens on very large roundabouts now and the timing is better.

I also had TMC enabled and the light sensitivity adjusted while it was in.

Since v16 is out soon I would probably hold off for that.

BTW - which remap are you going for ? I am currently considering Superchips

They give 30% more bhp and torque for the 525d and 530d. The other good thing is that they give a 14 day money back guarantee. They say it is undecatble but it may get wiped if you get a software update.

Superchips give you the options of restoring the ECU before going to the dealer which is very good. But the 525d is not listed on there site so im going to phone them on monday.

I think a member here got his 530d remapped by superchips and he was very impressed.

Do superchips give there tuning figures as minimum or maximum? They look quite low for some cars compared to other companies.

I wouldn't get a software update now, even if you have minor problems. Wait for 16, what will include the birds eye view for nav.

Really?! It amazes me they can implement this but somehow it's going to take another 9 months minimum to integrate something as simple as an mp3 decoder

Ive spoke to superchips, they say that they can only restore the ECU to standard on a ED15 not ED16 like mine. They can do i but they will charge ?50 every time. So thats ?50 before i take it to the dealer and ?50 after to put the superchips back on.

It works out too expensive. Angeltuning say that they will charge ?30 instead of ?50.

Superchips do quote impressive figures though. Minimim torque gain is 35% and max is 40%. And atleast an extra 35bhp.

So in theory i can expect atleast 212bhp and 540nm.

looks like a will get a tuning box from tuningbox.com or TD performance.
