Lomag, the TU may not be a typo.

Here's a link to my post in another thread a couple days ago with regard to the engine numbers.

I showed a TU as well (got my info from TIS).

 

OK. Our specialist has cleared it up.

I'll just use the info I got from the UK contact. If it's wrong we'll correct it over time.

 

Better sell the 545 this autumn then, and wait for the M6 insead of buying the M5?

Where have you heard that number ? The last one I've heard was 550 HP... ?!

 

has there ever been a 550? i've only seen 540 and 545.

 

Lomag, can you look into the 550 thing a little more - that's really hard to take after spending $60 large.

 

I've seen a 550 for sale - but BMW never built a 550. It was a tuned 540... New engine and other mods, and a new badge 550... But again, not coming from a BMW factory, self made...

 

Not hard to believe Joe, if you think about it....the new engines from MB coming out next year will include a top-of-the-line V8 with almost 400 hp. Not sure if this will go into the E-Class, but it will certainly fit into their new CLS.

As posted in another thread, BMW is working to improve the 545i engine, but they don't know yet if it will be a 550...

 

No, I believe it could happen, I just don't like it so soon. Not enough time to build equity ofr a trade-not that I MUST HAVE the latest version - it just sounds like a huge performance upgrade I would love to have ---wonder if they'd swing me a deal.
