GEARBOX SCREWED! Or....... worse....... GEARBOX FUBAR! Sounds like a bad transmission problem. Do you have issues shifting?

From your description I am pretty sure I know the source of the sound. It is the two Jim Beam bottles knocking together in the counsel.
but really can any one tell me if this is a problem....

I had my car served for a "chirping" sound in the steering wheel
and they did fix it.
But locating the disturbance sound exactly was not that easy.

If you can hear a disturbing sound, then it's a problem.

Best bet is to let a technician drive the car and try to pinpoint the sound. Whatever you do DON'T ignore it. On my previous car, a 320d, I heard a faint ticking sound from the front when turning. I ignored it, hoping it will go away by itself. Two days later, I had to replace the vibration pulley. It cost me an arm and a leg, cause I wasn't under warranty anymore. Moral of the story, if it doesn't sound right, have it checked out!
