Doesn't matter now. The guy who came to buy my other 3 wheels wanted the 4th tire too and let him have it. So I guess I'll look for a spare saver now.

If you're running conventional tyres and you have to use the donut space saver after a puncture on the road, where do you put the damaged wheel during transit?
If you're not loaded up, then the full-size wheel will easily fit in the boot/trunk. If you are loaded up, then you might be able to redistribute some stuff into the cabin to make space in the boot/trunk for the wheel. You had to take everything out to get to the donut space saver under the boot floor anyway, so pile it all back into the passenger footwell and back seat.
Worst case, you have a boot full of luggage, are carrying 4 passengers and it's raining, then you have some tough decisions to make. Which passenger and/or whose luggage do you leave behind ;-)
An alternative solution might be to always carry a roof-rack for this kind of emergency, similar to the old Mini rally cars:
Or borrowing from the old Land Rover solution, have some holes drilled in your hood ready to bolt the wheel on there:
Anyone care to have a go at photoshopping these onto an E60?
