I believe it's located under wheel well (passenger side rear wheel). You will have to remove the wheel and remove the plastic liner/shield to see this part.

Check engine light is out for few days now but would be good to know where is this valve for future. I do not believe that no one have replaced it here as it seams that no one knows exactly where it is located.

P0444 is either a Evaporative Emissions System Purge Control Valve Circuit Open and you should have a BMW fault code below.
2A19 - which is the same as above
2A1A Fuel Tank Venting Fault
Book says to check cap, vent lines at fuel tank and carbon canister, fuel level sensor and pump cover leaking AND tank ventilation valve in eng compartment but I can't in the book where it tells you the exact location other than engine compartment.

if the purge valve is open its connected to the throttle body.
its a pretty easy install, just take off the intake and you'll see a vaccum pump on a tube connected to the throttle body.

Not the intake manifold. on the throttle body and under the intake pipe. it'll be there. check for a hose that connects from the throttle body. on that hose will be a vaccum pump connected to it and another hose connecting to it.

I stand corrected. Fuel tank breather valve [on N52B30] is located near throttle body; it's attached to the huge bracket that holds bunch of wires under the intake manifold.
I looked at the pictures I've taken when I removed the intake manifold [for replacing starter], I see the breather valve in those pictures.
Picture below is from RMeuropean site.
