I guess it has smth to do with the diesel architecture. But the same rule i know it was applayed to gas engines. Air is fed through the injectors or smth like that and your in alot of trouble if u do that because the car won't start (as i've been told) only by putting gas in the tank. Injectors have to be air free or smth, so that requires a service. check. Some say it might ruin your engine.
