Hi, anyone replaced the fuel filter, pressure regulator unit on your E60?

My car ('06 530i, N52B30) takes slightly longer crank (about 3 seconds) and stumbles slightly during the start in the morning. Subsequent starts are much better. That leads me to think the fuel pressure is released while the car is sitting there. I even tried leaving the key in the ignition for 10 to 20 seconds before starting; no change. When I enter the car and put the key in the ignition, I don't hear the fuel pump run. Once the car starts, no symptoms of hesitation or stumble at all.

On E60 (with N52), the fuel pump (about $350) is on the right side; fuel filter and pressure regulator (single unit) is on the left side.

I'd appreciate your feedback if your car had the above mentioned symptoms or you had replaced the fuel filter/pressure regulator or fuel pump.

I haven't had that problem on my '07 530xi N52B30 (135k miles). However, ecstuning sells that pump for $272.99--BMW-branded. That's for my 03/2006 build, which is probably like yours.

Have you done a fuel pressure test?

latitude39, what made you reply to my older post?

Anyway, I replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump back in October of 2011. No issues since them.

Sorry. My mistake. I wouldn't have knowingly responded to an old thread like that. I'm not sure how I found this but I was thinking it had been posted today. Lesson learned.

I will be installing a fuel filter soon as PM so thanks for the confirmation of your fix.
