I have ran DIS on my car and I have the error code '4587 - heated fuel filter'. It says the possible cause is a clogged fuel filter so I have since replaced the fuel filter and cleared the fault codes, but the code keeps coming back with every diagnosis test.

DIS also recommends checking the wires/connections to the fuel heater but I can't remember seeing any obvious damage.
Any suggestions?

Is it possible that I would need to replace the fuel heater?

Many people including me have this problem with reoccuring 4587 heated filter problem. There are many posts on the internet. I did ask bmwfive used and he solved this problem by replacing fuel heater. I have not done this myself, but sure will.

Hi. Occasionally I am having that 4587 error code. Could you please explain me what is that fuel heater? Where is that located? Thank you.
