So the fuel cap door isnt locking when my car is locked. I can still push it to pop it open and get access to the cap. Trying to find out if its a fuse I need a to replace or a known problem that I can fix. Can anyone shed some light on it please ? Thanks

I'm not sure, but i thought there was a delay on the fuelcap-lock. (So you could fill up when you just got out of your car).
Try opening the cap after the car has been locked for a while.

But, I literally just went out into the dark and cold to check and it still opens (car is locked, checked). So maybe the mechanism itself is fubared ?

Yeah, i guess it's dead then. Try locking the car with the cap open, does it move the locking pin? Maybe there's something blocking the pin.

I think Ill give it a good clean. If nothing, I will take apart. Thats what I did in my previous car (VW Bora). Suprisingly, its only ever the fuel lock thats busted on my cars !! Whats with that ...
