Report in? Ok. After 5000 miles of V10 fun ...

Combined city/hwy average = 13 mpg
City driving only = 11 mpg
If my right foot suddenly gains 20 pounds = 9 mpg
Consumption on 800-mile roundtrip in 7th gear doing 75-80 mph = 19.1 mpg.

So you stopped for gas three times? Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't seem too bad. Maybe if I think about it more... haha

A lot of people in the states would kill for that type of mileage.
That's better than a Honda Civic...

Hey roadie,

Your so right, most people would kill for that type of mpg here in the states, but I wonder does he meant 48kpg = kilometers?

No I mean MPG, we still have miles in the UK. Check the specs for the 520d and it will tell you over 50mpg but I find in reality it usually gives 47 to 48!!

My 530d average since april is 28.5mpg actual(imperial). Most of my journeys are short blasts so the car doesnt do that many good runs. Did an over night trip to Bimingham this week though with 60 miles driven in town and 260 miles on the motorway mostly @95-100mph it returned over 34mpg. If you keep it under 80 on the motorway there economy is really good easily seeing 40+mpg any speed over that though and the economy drops off. My trip comuter is remarkably accurate at the moment and is less than 1mpg out each time I fill it up, the car only has 8k miles on it as well so i might even see better economy in the future.
