Have you noticed a reduction in the fuel consumption after a certain milage of your engine?

Not really (4000 miles today with my 530d). It much depends on your driving style and if you don't put one's foot down when the engine is still cold.

Clearly. Even if I drove carefully and slowly, the fuel consumption was about 1 liter/100 km bigger during the first few fillings.

If you've recently upgraded Software to v15 then you will find that they have improved the accuracy of the mpg reported. I found that my urban mpg went down while my motorway mpg went up.

After about 10 tankfulls of fuel my average mpg recorded by the car is pretty much exactly what I have hand calculated (~35mpg mixed driving) . Before this is was reading high by about 2mpg.
