Over the past 1300 mile I have averaged 41.5 mpg (UK gallons that is).

Now that I am using the revs a bit I can only see this falling.

This is of course one of the benefits of diesel - still wouldn't wear the T shirt though!

I'm very happy with my 530d's consumption. After last refill, and after mixed driving. (metric system )

Oh yeah.

Another BMW mystery, "Is your clock above or below the external temperature?"

May be it is something to do with the clock being in 24 hour format or not?

Here's my 530d this morning. Readings are after filling up and driving last night, showing a total range of 1,032km. This is after my usual commute - 60% motorway and 30% city streets... I'm so over the moon with this car. My apologies for the poor quality of the pic - the phone camera ain't that good. Clock's above the temp gauge too

Really envious of you diesel guys, I would be happy to get 500+ kms (mostly city) on my 523i. My clock is above the temp as well.

It's probably an LCi thing - one of those small differences that nobody notices!!

Then again - if I had bothered to read the Sig's before posting, I would realise that I was (again) speaking garbage.

Sorry

Here's the answer guys - if you set the time to 24 hour clock, you get the clock above the temperature readout.

If you set it to 12 hour clock, it reverses. Try it if you not convined and you will see the display "flip"!

And here is my range after filling up yesterday.

649 miles = 1046 km

Either way you cut it, a 600 mile / 1000 km range is achievable.
