Extremely heavy foot here... average 16.9 mpg, I always drive in pretty crazy traffic in the morning, lots of stop and gos and the rest of the time it's serious aggressive driving. No complaints though.

My millage seems to have gotten better since we switched to 'winter' fuel.

Around town (suburban - some interstate) about 19 MPG (US I6 Touring with X-Drive and Step).

Steady state highway (across Kansas) @ 85-to-95 MPH (145 KPH) -- 24.5 MPG. The air temp was about 90? F (or around 32? - 305? K )

13 to 16mpg City and 19 hw. Lots of city driving in 1, 2 and 3rd gear. Lots of stops and starts. The old adage that manual transmissions are more efficient than auto does not apply a big V8 where the load of the torque converter is negligible. It city driving a step will drop into 6th when you release the throttle, but with manual you hold the revs.

Thats why the 550 now has a $3500 gas guzzler tax for SMG and sped. Its waived on the Step.
Maybe. I paid the gas guzzler on a '97 540 Sport in 1996 simply because the frontal resistance was increased by the added width of the tires. Gas mileage on the EPA estimate exceeded that of other 540 non sport models. Go figure.

Sorry to be thorough, but Santa has to be, otherwise all the gifts would be mixed up.

What do you mena with winter fuel?
As to my knowledge there is no product like that, diesel fuel have winter brands, but not gasoline.

The other thing is that 95 miles per hour (MPH) is 153 kilometers per hour (km/h).
85 mph is 137 km/h.

In my pic the two values where mixed up, MPG (miles per gallon) and km/h.
A US Gallon is 3.785 litres.

Here in EU we measure gas consumption with litres / 100 kilometers.

Not in this part of the EU we don't.

I have a 545i e60 and I am averaging about 19.1 MPG under "normal" non-aggressive driving. I am curious to know what other e60 owners are averaging. Please reply even if you have e60 with other engines. (I6)
about 22...but my area has light to moderate traffic patterns and I always commute to work outside peak hours.
I'm usually getting on 1 tank:

-500km (312mls) average

-650km (405mls) hwy

-400km (250mls) having fun = which is usually the case..
