I did a search and found all sorts of info, but not exactly what I was looking for. I picked my new 545 up tonight and twice on the way home (about 200 miles) it said I had a tire puncture and a flat. I've got aftermarket 20's on it, so it might have something to do with that. Is there a way to turn it off? I'm not on runflats anyway and would notice if a tire was low, and especially if I got a flat. I would rather not see this thing pop up.

Tire pressure is good. It went off once and then I reset it. Then it went off again and I reset it again. It hasn't gone off again, but I'm assuming it will. I know the BMW dealer had 2 tires replaced before I picked it up (1 nail and 1 screw).

It was saying I had a complete flat. Got home and had exactly 40 lbs in each tire, so it's definitely some kind of issue. Just wondering if there is a way to turn it off. I know I can't do it, but can the dealer do it?

ftm only has 2 values

:l

u either have a tire full of air or u have a flat one

regardless if u only lose 10 psi and ur tire still is driveable

it will say u have a flat

just how it is

its not tpms which offers a more accurate reading

Could be your tyre sizes. If you have a staggered set up the revs/mile of the front and rears should be closely matched,if not the FTM will assume that you have a flat.

When you have a staggered set up the tyre width and profile is chosen to retain the correct overall diameter (and ,hence the revs/mile ) of each wheel.
If,for example, the front size has a diameter which is not the same as the rear (within a small tolerance) then the front and rear wheel revs/mile will differ enough to be seen by the FTM as a drop in pressure .As far as I am aware, the ABS sensors on each wheel provide the signals for the FTM.
